Kent Young Farmers

Kent Young Farmers' Club is celebrating it's 63rd anniversary this year, and continues to grow as a popular young persons' organisation.

At the beginning of 2009, we had 10 school clubs and 10 Open Clubs and have grown in membership from 2008 to nearly 600 members. YFC is, and will continue to be, an organisation to which members are proud to belong. It aims to be a safe environment in which members can have fun, make friends, learn and achieve.

The organisation will continue to be member led, and will aim to deliver excellent services for all young people with an interest in the countryside; wherever they live and whatever their background. The clubs and County Federation deliver services, experiences and opportunities that are supported by a regional structure, with strategic direction and assistance from the National organisation.

Over the next year we will be reviewing our county programmes to cater for the increases in membership and the general trend of growth in younger membership. In relation to this, the increase in policy to protect young people and our members has become more noticeable, to comply with legislation and our aim to provide a safe environment for young people.

We have made headway this year with the launch of our website, which is a wonderful marketing tool and great for advertising what is happening in the county and across our clubs.
