Royal School for Deaf Children YFC
by Helen Stephens

There's not much to report this year as we are a new YFC in Kent. We have managed to recruit 5 members, 2 of whom are profoundly deaf, and the other 3 are students in the local community.

Our achievements at the Kent Show this year were a credit to the few members who were involved. Our aim was to learn from our experience, not leave with any rosettes! In fact, I can safely say it didn't cross any of our minds that there could be a possibility of rosettes/awards, so it made the whole experience brilliant!! Our thanks must go to everyone who helped us through the 3 days, guiding us not only with the animals but on the campsite, too! One of our young farmers is so hooked he has asked for a calf for his birthday so he can show it at next year's show!!
