Meopham School Annual Report 2005
by Pat Young

Another busy year for Meopham School YFC!

We have shown our pet rabbits at the Kent Rabbit Club shows and joined them at the Kent Game Fair and Kent Country Show at the Hop Farm.

We have also shown our guinea pigs at the Kent Cavy Club shows, including the show at Farming World, Faversham and have bred some beautiful baby guinea pigs this year.
We took small pets to the Living Land at Detling and had a really busy day with hundreds of junior school children.

Our animals went to the County Show, and for the first time we exhibited at the Edenbridge and Oxted show.

The local special schools have visited our animals at school, and the Young Farmers have entertained groups of Rainbows, Beavers, Cubs and Brownies. The Kinder group of preschool children are regular visitors to the YFC area.

We attended the rally day and the cattle and pig training days with other clubs and have been invited to some of Meopham and District's evening meetings, including a BBQ - well cooked by Denis.

This year, at school prize giving, YFC were awarded the team prize of the year, a new award for our sports college status which will be a great encouragement to our members as they have put in so much hard work this year.

Our thanks go to all those who have helped, supported or donated to us this year to help us continue our small but enthusiastic club.

Pat Young - Team Leader
