Emma's last Summer at Valley Park
by Emma Reed, Valley Park YFC's Chairman

21st August 2005

The summer holidays have brought peace and quiet to the Valley Park YFC, with only me, my mum and brother occasionally, attending each day to feed, water, clean, and care for our animals.

Although with all of the members, who are all in year 7, 8 and 9, who were with us in term time are away on holidays now, enjoying their break and leaving the older members to take full time duty of the animals, it is nice to be alone the majority of the time with the animals, as in only a few weeks time, if that, I will be at Hadlow College studying my ND in animal management.

Valley Park's animal unit and involvement in YFC has brought so much fun and activity to me over the past years and I will miss it when I leave as it has played such a big part in my every day life, however, with my time off from college I will return to Valley Park to make sure everything is in order. Hopefully the new school year start will bring a new flock of students towards the club who we will show keen interest as what the very first members did around 5 years ago!
